Thanks to a lot of help from various edebate readers and my own
research, I was able to find out a couple of things.
The edebate archives are saved on a Vermont server that Tuna has
control over in addition to being saved on Mail Archive.
I have heard Tuna will remove postings.
The email below says that Mail Archive will as long as the list
moderator gives them permission.
The post I want removed is saved on Mail Archive. I emailed Phil to
have it removed. I received no response.
I have also been in contact with others who want posts removed as well
as the authors of a few posts who never imagined that what they wrote
would be "googleable and forever."
I don't understand the point of the archives at all. No one has even made one.
Edebate can even prevent google from indexing sites or parts of a
site. There is a way to flag pages not to be indexed by search:

The solution?
Remove Phil Kerpen from control of debate. Too many people are too
unhappy with the way this list serve has been run. Also, a lot of
people have told me that certain posts (like the topless photo) seem
to magically disappear, while others do not.
Who wants to control edebate and fix the current problem?
