Full Time Program Position with the Baltimore Urban Debate League
Available immediately
The Baltimore Urban Debate League changes life outcomes for hundreds of young
people across Baltimore City each year. With a passionate staff determined
to bring educational opportunity and promise to close to 1000 students a year
from over 55 underserved Baltimore City Schools, the League is making a
difference in the educational outlook in Baltimore City and is poised to take the
lead in classrooms across the city as the key to reaching and inspiring
tomorrow's leaders.
If you are passionate about education, social justice, community generated
debate and dialogue; if you are determined to work for meaningful systemic
change and believe in the power of educational opportunity to alter young lives,
this may be the position for you. The Baltimore Urban Debate League is looking
for top notch program staff to work with our students and teachers in our
award winning program serving students in Baltimore's City's public middle and
high schools.
The ideal candidate will
-have experience and a track record of success teaching debate to young
people
- be a consummate professional with a clear sense of mission
- demonstrate integrity in personal and professional endeavors
-be a highly motivated and energetic self starter
-be a flexible team player
-have excellent organizational skills
-be open to new challenges and experiences
-have a college degree
-have excellent oral and written communication skills
-be persistent and determined to make a difference even in the face of
significant challenge
