The Department of Communication Studies at Baylor University invites
applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position specializing in
Argumentation and Debate. The department seeks individuals who will
strengthen the department's undergraduate and graduate programs, while
reaffirming and deepening its distinctive Christian mission, and its 2012
vision statement.

Responsibilities for this position include teaching and developing courses
in the areas of public address, argumentation & debate, persuasion, and in
the area of the candidate’s specialty, as well as assisting in the direction
of the Glenn R. Capp Debate Forum. Qualified applicants must demonstrate
excellence in coaching and/or assisting in the direction of a nationally
competitive policy debate program. Debate responsibilities would include:
Extensive coaching and tournament travel with the team, assisting in the
direction of a large summer high school debate workshop and tournament,
assisting in the direction of a large college debate tournament, and
assisting the Director of the program with other administrative duties such
as recruitment, scholarships, alumni relations, and budget management.

Applicants should be willing to direct graduate level theses and cultivate
an active research program in an area of specialty. Baylor University is
