The KDI School has recently begun the first Gradaute student debating team
in Korea. Our students will be participating in next weeks Korean National
Championship, as well as the Asian Debate Championships in May. (It is
common internationally for Graduate Students to debate.)
The KDI School is an outstanding place to work and faculty are treated

Position #1:
Business Communication and Debate Lecturer
Description: The KDI School seeks a full time lecturer who can teach
Business (Organizational) Communication as well as Public Speaking and/or
Debate. This position involves teaching fundamental business communication
techniques to MBA students as well as Advanced English courses in Public
Speaking and Debate to other KDI graduate students. The contract would
require teaching 2-3 per semester.
Minimum Qualifications: Native English Speaker with an MA in Communication,
Rhetoric or a related field.
The ideal candidate would have extensive experience in competitive debate
(please include this experience in your application) as well as an MA degree
with an Organizational Communication focus. Experience in the international
business world is a plus. Experience teaching non-native speakers of
English and/or working in a multicultural environment is preferred.

Position #2:
Writing Instructor and English Lecturer
Description: The KDI School seeks an experienced English teacher with the
ability to train graduate students in the fundamentals of academic English
writing. This position would involve teaching 2-3 courses per semester, at
least one of which would be writing during each term.
Minimum Qualifications: Native English Speaker with a Masters Degree in
English or a related field.
Experience teaching/coaching debate and/or public speaking is preferred,
though not mandatory for this position.
The ideal candidate would have experience teaching English as a Second
Language in a foreign country and/or teaching in a
multicultural/multi-lingual environment.

Working Environment: The KDI School of Public Policy and Management is a
Korean government affliated decade old institution. The school is the
graduate degree granting arm of the Korea Development Institute, one of the
most decorated research institutes in Korea. The school and research
institute are both located in northeast Seoul, a thriving metropolis of over
12 million people.
The KDI School provides graduate degrees in four concentrations: MBA (Master
of Business Administration), MPP (Master of Public Policy), MAM (Master of
Asset Management), or MFDI (Master of Foreign Direct Investment). The
majority of students are MBA and MPP students. All classes are conducted in
English.
KDI students are primarily working business professionals and government
employees. While the majority of students are Korean, over 25% of students
are from other countries. Many of these countries are developing nations in
Asia, Africa and Latin America. It is not uncommon in a class of 20
students to have 7 or more nationalities represented.
Contract: Both positions are for a one year appointment that is renewable
based upon satisfactory evaluations and teaching performance. Salary will
be commensurate with experience. The KDI School desires to hire the highest
quality instructors and consistently offers competitive compensation
packages to highly qualified applicants.
The job search will continue until July 1 or until the position is filled.
The appointment will begin in September (preferably) or January. (The KDI
School calendar year begins in January.)
