I couldn't hold my tongue.  I love you Tim, but you gotta trust a man with a gut when it comes to Dallas eateries (that would be me).  Certainly, all of the restaurants on Tim's list are FANTASTIC (and contributed heavily to this tub), but there are a few places that simply HAD to be mentioned.

India Palace.  Consistently rated as the best Indian food in Dallas, even though Clay Pit beat them out in '05.  $12-30 per person, buffet on the weekends runs $12 or so.  http://www.indiapalacedallas.com/.   India Palace • 12817 Preston Road #105 • Dallas, TX 75230 • 972-392-0190.  Very easy--635 exit Preston and turn south.  Shopping center on the right.  Next to Chili's.

Sushi Yokohama.  Best sushi and sashimi in Dallas.  Great atmosphere.  Straight down Preston north from 635.  On the left in a shopping center 1 block south of the GWB tollway.

Jack's Burger House.  This Highland Park burger spot is the best in the biz.  There's no better burger.  Period.
