[eDebate] Congratulations Mike Davis

Congratulations to Dr. Michael K. Davis, who was recently named the
Director of Debate at James Madison University starting this Fall.

James Madison could not hope to find a better person to fill this
position than Mike Davis. Mike has worked in a volunteer capacity (and
by volunteer, I mean entirely without pay) as the assistant coach at
GSU for the past two years. In that time, I have personally witnessed
the qualities many others in this community have praised for so long
-- Mike's dedication, his skill coaching debaters at all levels, and
his incredible sense of community responsibility and service.

While JMU is gaining a Director who will shepherd its program to new
heights of success, GSU is losing a valuable colleague and a fantastic
coach. I don't know how we will replace Mike's presence on the squad,
but I am thankful that Mike has agreed to return to run the tab room
at our tournament and co-direct our summer college workshop.

On a personal note, I will miss Mike a lot. He has been a great friend
to me and to all the debaters at GSU. All of District 6 will feel his
absence.
