Journal Editor Search

The Cross Examination Debate Association is seeking applicants for the
position of editor of its annual, peer-reviewed scholarly journal,
Contemporary Argumentation and Debate: The Journal of the Cross
Examination Debate Association. Published since 1980, the journal
carries scholarship relevant to rhetoric, argumentation, and public and
intercollegiate debate. The journal is indexed and carried in full text
by EBSCO.

The new editor will serve a three-year term, beginning with the
publication of Volume 28 in Fall 2008. The editor will be responsible
for all aspects of planning the journal, soliciting and reviewing
manuscripts, preparing camera-ready copy, and directing publication of
the journal.

The editor will be appointed by the CEDA Executive Council, with the
advice and counsel of the Editor Selection Committee.

The application packet should include a letter of application detailing
the applicant's qualifications for the position and vision for the
journal, a current curriculum vita, three letters of recommendation from
individuals prepared to assess the applicant's qualifications for
editing a scholarly journal, and samples of the applicant's own
published work. CEDA provides the editor a $1,000.00 honoraria for the
position per year upon publication of the journal which can defray any
overhead assumed by the Editor or their institution or be taken simply
as a stipend.

Applicants should send the committee an intent-to-apply e-mail message
by Tuesday November 14, 2006 (Tuesday of NCA convention in San Antonio).
Direct the message to kelly.mcdonald at asu.edu.

The deadline for receiving a complete application packet is February 1,
2007. Please direct all application materials to:
